Temporary certificate of citizen of Ukraine – it is an identification document, which confirms the affiliation to the citizenship of Ukraine. This document is issued to persons who have attained the age of sixteen, who have acquired the citizenship of Ukraine and took an obligation to terminate foreign citizenship within 2 years from the date of acquisition of the citizenship of Ukraine. Temporary certificate is issued for up to 2 years.

Temporary certificate is issued to:

• Persons residing on the territory of Ukraine – by the relevant office of State Migration Service (by place of residence (registration));
• Persons who live abroad – by diplomatic and consular offices of Ukraine in other states.

The application for a temporary certificate of citizen of Ukraine is filed personally by an individual or representative. Photo and the signature of the receiving person are pasted in certificate. 
On the reverse side of a temporary certificate is information about the place of residence.

 NOTES

The temporary certificate shall be submitted to relevant unit of State Migration Service or diplomatic or consular office together with the document that confirms the termination of person's foreign citizenship or declaration of renunciation of foreign citizenship; and after that the applicant is issued a Ukrainian passport.
