In 2025, a farmer approached us in a state of deep despair and anger. Since 2009, for nearly 16 years, he had been leasing a land share of 8.4 hectares in the Odesa region. Year after year, he paid rent honestly and invested all his effort, equipment, and money into this land. It was his main hope for his family’s future.

The landowner took a large sum of money from him under a receipt and promised to sell the land specifically to him. The farmer expected that after completing the sale, they would sign a will, a 25-year power of attorney, and an emphyteusis agreement. However, none of these documents were ever executed.
